En 2024, le Tourcoing Jazz Tour donne carte blanche au pianiste martiniquais Gregory Privat. Musicien incontournable de la scène jazz française, il s’entoure pour ce 14e Tour du percussionniste Sonny Troupé, virtuose du tambour Ka et maître du Gwoka.

 

Ces deux musiciens se connaissent très bien puisqu’ils ont déjà enregistré un album en duo en 2015 intitulé «Luminescence », reflet d’un mélange de jazz, de biguine au groove soigné. Un opus qui révèle une entente parfaite entre les deux artistes, qui laissent une belle place à l’improvisation dans un dialogue permanent et haletant entre leurs deux instruments. C’est dans cette continuité que Grégory Privat proposera un nouveau projet en deux temps distincts. Le Tourcoing Jazz Tour l’invite avec Sonny Troupé sur 6 dates dans 6 villes de la métropole lilloise du 9 au 14 avril 2024. On retrouvera Grégory Privat lors de  la 38e édition du Tourcoing Jazz Festival 2024 (du 12 au 19 octobre).

Un nouveau voyage mélodique où le pianiste revisitera également certains de ces thèmes les plus chers.

 

Grégory Privat est lauréat du Prix Django Reinhardt, "meilleur musicien français" 2023.

En partenariat avec la Source et la ville de Roncq.

These two musicians know each other very well since they have already recorded a duo album in 2015 entitled “Luminescence”, reflecting a mixture of jazz, beguine and careful groove. An opus which reveals a perfect understanding between the two artists, who leave plenty of room for improvisation in a permanent and breathtaking dialogue between their two instruments. It is in this continuity that Grégory Privat will propose a new project in two distinct stages. The Tourcoing Jazz Tour invites him with Sonny Troupé on 6 dates in 6 cities in the Lille metropolis from April 9 to 14, 2024. We will find Grégory Privat during the 38th edition of the Tourcoing Jazz Festival 2024 (from October 12 to 19). A new melodic journey where the pianist will also revisit some of these most cherished themes.
